Its Getting closer and closer to the official NFL Draft (Live stream edition)! As such, i’ve decided to begin my official mock draft starting with the anticipated top 5. Honestly if you’re a follower of most mocks, this one won’t detract too much. Either way enjoy guys
1. Cincinnati Bengals – Joe Burrow, QB, LSU Burrow had one of the greatest college football seasons statiscally ever for a QB. Cincy will probably field calls for the pick, but you don’t trade out of a franchise QB and he grew up in your own backyard, don’t mess this up Cincy.
2. Washington Redskins – Chase Young, DE, Ohio State Washington and Ron Rivera probably think about Tua here, but with the craziness of COVID-19 going on, I do believe they will have more faith in Haskins going forward and why not let Rivera build his monster defense by grabbing the best defensive prospect in quite some time in Young. Dude is a beast and will almost average double digit sacks with that nasty DLine the Skins have.
3. Detroit Lions – Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State This is definitely a trade back scenario for Detroit and one you will probably see happen on draft night, but with his being no trades, Detroit will sit right here and take Jeff Okudah to fill the Darius Slay hole. Now it doesn’t seem very smart to trade away your #1 corner just to draft one with a top 3 pick, but Okudah is different. Makes everything look so easy and is cheaper and younger than Slay, so it makes sense.
4. New York Giants – Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson Now, this a mock of what I think will happen, not what I would do. Giants GM Dave Gettleman loves linebackers and drafting top ones in the draft. Simmons gives them an ultimate chess piece on the defensive side. In the NFC East you need a LB who will make plays on the RBs and cover TEs. Simmons can do both with his god gifted athleticism. Giants fans might not rejoice because it’s not an OT, but with a high R2 pick, they can get someone to protect Jones then.
5. Miami Dolphins – Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon Again, this is what I think will happen. There is a lot of buzz around the NFL that the Dolphins are more comfortable with Herbert at this point than Tua. He is a safer pick, but his upside is not. I don’t like Herbert at all in this class and think he is a limited kind of Qb at the next level. The Dolphins could be throwing the biggest smokescreen ever and actually love Tua and take him here at 5 or trade up, but I will follow suit with most other draft analysts and agree that Herbert is safer based on his medicals.
Whats good y'all, my name Jawaun aka Self Care La-Flare and I'm a former super stressed individual who decided to make a change. Along my path to self-help, I've picked up a few experiences that have helped my outlook on life.
My goal for this blog is to publicize this info and hopefully assist others in their pursuit of happiness. Also, I'm trying to get an "A" in this class so spread the word.
